Account information: when you sign in through our authentication provider (Auth0), we receive the email address, name and avatar provided by the identity provider you choose. When you create your player profile you provide a nickname and may upload a profile image.
Riot account: if you connect your Riot account, we store its Riot identifier (PUUID) and your Riot ID (game name and tag line) to verify tournament eligibility and provide match services.
Tournament data: teams, rosters, tournament registrations, match schedules and results are created on and stored by our platform.
Notifications: if you enable push notifications, we store the push subscription of your browser. Your email notification preference is stored with your profile.
Technical data: our servers keep access logs that include IP addresses, browser type and requested pages. We use these to operate, secure and troubleshoot the platform.
Analytics: we use a self-hosted instance of Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to understand how the platform is used. It collects anonymised usage data such as page views, referrers, browser and device type and country. It does not use cookies, does not store full IP addresses and does not track you across other websites.
Contract performance: processing of account, profile, Riot account and tournament data is necessary to provide our tournament services.
Consent: we rely on your consent for connecting your Riot account, enabling push notifications, receiving marketing communications, and sharing your data with sponsors or partners. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Legitimate interest: we process technical log data and anonymised analytics data based on our legitimate interest in keeping the platform secure, reliable and improving the user experience. These interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
We use the collected information to create and manage your account and player profile, to run tournaments (registration, eligibility checks, scheduling, results and standings), to send notifications you have enabled, to fulfil prize distribution, to keep the platform secure and prevent fraud, to analyse platform usage in anonymised form, to display advertising, and to comply with legal obligations.
Your nickname, avatar, connected Riot ID (game name and tag line), team memberships, match history and tournament results are visible on your public player profile and on team and tournament pages. Your email address is never public.
Auth0 processes your login and, if you connect one, the Riot account link; its processing is governed by Auth0's privacy policy.
Riot Games provides account verification and game services (match data and tournament codes); its processing is governed by Riot Games' privacy policy.
Push notifications are delivered through the push service of your browser vendor (such as Google, Mozilla or Apple).
The platform and its database are hosted with Hetzner Online GmbH on servers located in Germany. Emails are delivered through Resend; its processing is governed by Resend's privacy policy.
We display advertising through Google AdSense. When ads are served, Google may process technical data and use cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, as described in Google's privacy policy. You can manage ad personalisation in your Google ad settings.
Our Discord server is an optional community space governed by Discord's own privacy policy.
We share data with the service providers listed above only as necessary to operate the platform. With your explicit consent, we may share your data with sponsors and partners for marketing or for prize fulfilment; aggregated statistics that do not identify you may be shared without consent. We may disclose information where required by law, court order or governmental regulation, or where necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Some of our service providers may be located outside Switzerland or the EU/EEA. In such cases we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms, to protect your data in accordance with the FADP and GDPR.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. Upon account deletion or at your request we delete or anonymise your personal data, except where retention is required by law. Match results and standings may be kept in anonymised or historical form as part of the competitive record.
Under the FADP and GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request deletion, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw any consent at any time. Data portability is handled manually — contact us and we will assist you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), or your local data protection authority in the EU/EEA.
To exercise any of these rights, contact privacy@alpineleague.gg. We respond within the legally required timeframe.
We send essential account and tournament notifications needed to run our services. Email notifications can be turned off at any time in your notification settings, and push notifications can be disabled there or in your browser. Marketing communications are only sent with your consent and always include a way to opt out.
We set only cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function, in particular session cookies for authentication. Our analytics (Umami) work without cookies. Google AdSense may set cookies or use similar identifiers to serve and measure ads; you can control these through your browser settings and your Google ad settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from logging in.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
The platform is intended for users aged 16 and over; players aged 13 to 15 may participate with parental or guardian consent, as set out in our Terms & Conditions. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child without the required consent, we will delete it.
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes are announced by posting the updated policy on the platform and updating the date above. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
