What is Alpine League?

Alpine League is a Swiss esports league organizing competitive League of Legends and VALORANT tournaments for players based in Switzerland. Teams compete over the season in tournaments with different formats, from group stages to
 playoff brackets.

Which games can I compete in?

We currently run tournaments for League of Legends and VALORANT. Each tournament is dedicated to one game — check the tournament page to see which one.

Who can participate?

Alpine League is aimed at players living in Switzerland. Teams may include a limited number of foreign players — the exact limit is set per tournament and shown on the tournament page. A player counts as Swiss when their profile
 nationality is set to Switzerland.

How do I create an account?

Sign in on the website — your account is created automatically on first login. Afterwards, complete your player profile by choosing a nickname and setting your nationality.

Why do I need to connect my Riot account?

Your Riot account identifies you in-game: it is required to register as a starting player for any tournament, it lets us create the custom game lobbies, and it allows match results to be verified automatically. Every player on a
 registered roster must have a connected Riot account.

How do I connect my Riot account?

Open your profile settings and connect your Riot account via Riot Sign-On. League of Legends and VALORANT share the same Riot account, so you only need to connect it once. A Riot account can only be connected to one Alpine League
 profile.

Why does my nationality matter?

Tournaments limit the number of foreign players per team. Your profile nationality is what counts: if it is not set to Switzerland, you are counted as a foreign player during tournament registration. Make sure it is set correctly before
 your team registers.

How do I create a team?

Create your player profile first, then create a team on the website. You become the team owner and can invite players, manage the roster and register the team for tournaments.

How do players join my team?

Share your team invite code with them. Anyone with a profile can join using the code. As the owner you can manage roles and mark members as players or non-players (for example coaches or managers).

What is a team tag?

The tag is your team shortname shown on scoreboards and match pages — 2 to 4 letters or digits, for example ALP. It must be unique across active teams and can be set when creating or editing your team.

How many players does my team need?

It depends on the tournament: you need at least the full starting lineup (for example 5 players for a 5v5) and may register additional substitutes up to the limit shown on the tournament page. Only members marked as players count
 towards the roster.

How do I register my team for a tournament?

During the registration window, the team owner registers the team on the tournament page. Your roster is validated at that moment: enough players, the foreign player limit, every player has a connected Riot account, and no player is
 already registered with another team in the same tournament.

What is check-in and why is it required?

Shortly before a tournament starts, registered teams must check in to confirm they will actually play. Only checked-in teams are seeded into the bracket. The check-in window is shown on the tournament page — do not miss it.

Can I change my roster during a tournament?

Some tournaments lock rosters while they run. In that case, changes are requested through a roster change proposal by the team owner or manager and reviewed by an admin. Each stage allows a limited number of approved changes, so use
 them wisely.

Which tournament formats are used?

Depending on the tournament: round robin groups, Swiss rounds, single elimination and double elimination brackets — often combined, for example a group stage followed by playoffs. The format of each stage is shown on the tournament
 page.

How does match ready-up work?

Starting 15 minutes before the scheduled match time, each team submits its starting lineup and readies up on the match page. Once both teams are ready, the game lobby is prepared — for League of Legends you will receive a tournament
 code to join the custom lobby.

What happens if the opponent does not show up?

Teams must ready up within the allowed time after the scheduled match start. If your team readied up and the opponent did not, the match is automatically awarded to you as a walkover. If neither team readies up, an admin decides the
 outcome.

Can we reschedule a match?

If the tournament allows rescheduling, either team can propose a new time on the match page and the opponent can accept it. Rescheduling closes a set time before the match, so agree on changes early. Admins can always adjust the
 schedule if both teams reach out.

How are match results recorded?

League of Legends results are fetched automatically from Riot after the game finishes. Where automatic results are not available, both teams report the score on the match page and matching reports are confirmed automatically —
 disagreements and edge cases are resolved by an admin.

Where do I find the rules?

Every tournament page links its rulebook with the full competitive ruleset for that event. General conduct rules apply across all Alpine League competitions.

What happens if a team breaks the rules?

Depending on the severity, admins can issue warnings, award a match as a forfeit or disqualify a team from the tournament. Decisions are made by the admin team based on the rulebook.

What can we win?

Each tournament page lists its prize pool and how it is distributed across the final placements. Prizes vary per tournament and season.

How do I get notified about my matches?

You receive notifications on the website, by email and optionally as browser push notifications — for match schedules, ready-up reminders, results and roster updates. You can disable email notifications in your notification preferences
 at any time.
